7 Months.....Oh the Adventures

Wow....7 months....who would have thought it would come so quickly. I am really enjoying your new stage in life. You are extremely interactive, curious and full of life. You still study your environment, objects and people, but now you interact with everything and everyone. Once you are done studying, whatever it is you are studying, you then want to know how it works. You will pick the object up and roll it around, you will touch walls, windows, etc, and you also touch and grab people's faces. I have really enjoyed watching you experience new situations this month.

Some things that happen this month, that I didn't get a picture of are:
  • You started crawling - you don't quite understand how to get your knees under you, but you have figured out how to army crawl. You have a great new sense of freedom now.
  • You LOVE talking! You must have gotten this from your Mommy. You talk a lot during the day, but you talk most during the times after you are put down for your naps or to go to bed. You lay in your crib and talk to yourself for about 5 mins before you finally fall asleep.
  • You make sure that you say "Da Da" whenever you see Daddy. You are such a smart kid.
  • You throw temper tantrums now. These trantrums last one for a few seconds, but it is long enough for you to make your point and for Mommy and Daddy to laugh. You tighten your hands into fists, straighten your arms and legs and growl until your face turns red. It is hilarious!
To start off your 7th month, you were teething. You got your 2 bottom teeth in within the first week. You were completely miserable and Daddy and I did the best we could to help you feel better. At one point, all you needed was Mommy to just hold you while you slept. Needless to say, by the pictures below, it was a really exhausting night and morning for me.One of my favorite new skills has been watching you eat. At the beginning of the month, you thought that you couldn't swallow your food unless you put your thumb in your mouth to suck on. Meal times ended up getting very messy. However, by the end of the month you figured out how to swallow on your own and now you are a Pro eater. You have also figured out that if you drop some of your food on the ground, or if you hang your arm over the side, the doggies will come over to liked all the food up. You love having them around at all times. This month you also started eating more solid foods. We got you rice wafers that dissolve in your mouth. You love trying to chew your foods and really have enjoyed eating the wafers. Just like everything you eat, if always ends up all over your face. You have really grow to love your daddy so much that you can't stop staring at him. Whenever your daddy comes into a room, you will just sit and stare at him until he stares back at you. As soon as he does, you smile, giggle and then go back to what you were doing. However, about 1 minute later you start staring at him again. It is pretty obvious that your daddy is the favorite. Daddy can't be in the room when it is time to eat, because he is too distracting that you never turn back around to eat.Oh I just love you so much! You have your own DUCKIE bath! Bath time is the best time!!!Mommy had to go on a work trip to Washington, D.C. this month. This is the first time that I have left you for more than a couple hours. It was definitely hard to leave you, but you really enjoyed having a couple "Guy's Nights" with Daddy.

Here is Mommy at the Washington MonumentAt the Lincoln MemorialAt the White HouseOne of Scott's cousins came into town for a quick visit. Her name is Diana and she lives in California with her husband and kids. This was the very first time that she was able to meet you. Her daughter Eden does not like babies and didn't want to hold you. We forced her to sit next to her mom and get a picture.Grandma Barton is so much fun to play with. Whenever we go over to her house, she gets down on the ground and you and her play with all the toys together. One big toy she has is a tub full of these balls. We put you in there and you were terrified! So to help you get over your fear, Daddy decided to dump all the balls on you both.Ever since then, you love to play in your tub of balls. This month you found out that your Uncle Nick and Aunt Morgan are going to have another baby. This means another cousin for you to play with!!!Uncle Kyle and Aunt Stacie came down to Salt Lake and we were able to meet them and Grandma Barton for lunch. You had a blast playing with them and thought it was funny when you would drool on Uncle Kyle. If you started to drool, even a tiny bit, Uncle Kyle would quickly pass you back over to Mommy. You really do not like to sit in your own seat at the restaurants. You would much rather sit in someone's lap and try to throw their plate, silverware and whatever else you can get your hands on, on to the floor. Here you are throwing a cute little temper tantrum in hopes that Mommy would rescue you from this awful chair. With a little help, you can drink out of your own glass!!! You love drinking out of glasses now and would do it all day if you could. Sippy cups are for babies! One great thing about Mommy having Fridays off of work is that we can surprise Daddy and have lunch with him. You and your Daddy are always up to something. You love playing, rough housing and just being with him. You giggle all the time whenever he is around. Lucas, you really do have the best daddy in the world! We got to celebrate Mommy's favorite holiday this month....HALLOWEEN! For your first year, Daddy and I thought it would be fantastic to dress you up as a Muscle Man! We were able to go over to Grandpa Barton's house to trick-or-treat and have lunch. Great Grandma Barton (Grandma Grandma) came over as well. You loved showing everyone your costume. Grandma Barton thought you were the coolest muscle man she has ever seen. Grandma Barton even gave you a Halloween Treat!Grandpa Barton has a big basket of full size candy bars. You couldn't pass up a chance to pick out a treat for yourself.Even though you were in the middle of Croup again, you were still the happiest little boy on earth while Daddy and Mommy took you around to the grandparents for Halloween.

Lucas, we love you so much. You have just been a blast and we have absolutely no idea what we would do without you. You keep us laughing everyday and we look forward to all of the fun times we will have with you in the future.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
