Baby Lucas

Surprise, surprise......what we thought could be a girl is DEFINITELY a BOY! There is no mistaking my little boy for a girl. Scott and I had a fun time at the ultrasound and our technician was cracking jokes left and right. Lucas definitely made a us laugh and was as stubborn as he could be. Just as the technician was getting a shot of the "goods", Lucas decided that it was his turn to enjoy the nice package he has been blessed with. The technician was hitting his bum area for quite a bit of time, trying to get Lucas to let go, so we could get a shot. Lucas was as stubborn as he could be and kept on doing his thing until he was finished. Hmmm.....I think he already takes after his Daddy and Mommy, definitely stubborn.

Maybe he will take all my stubborness from me and after I give birth, I won't have any anymore. haha Oh, we could only hope.

Will It Be a BOY or GIRL????

Scott and I get to find out what our little one will be this Friday!!!! I am at the point that I can barely stand waiting any longer. Friday is definitely not coming soon enough.

Truly Amazing

I just have to tell everyone how amazing my husband is. I have been dealing with a trial in my life that carries a lot of hurt. Today the hurt from this trial flared up and left me feeling alone and empty inside. I talked with Scott about it in the afternoon (as much as I could without crying at work) and then went back on with my day.

My wonderful husband sent me an email a few hours later, saying that he wasn't going to go play in his softball game and that he had a good night planned for me. At the end of the day he called me to let me know what he had been working on. He told me that he couldn't help me with the particular problem, but could help me by being an instrument in the Lord's hands. He spent the afternoon emailing with my mom, getting some wonderful activities set up, to really show me how many people love and support me. How amazing is he?!?

I am so thankful for Scott and for all that he does for me. I am one lucky woman!

Fun Idea

I just had a fun idea come to mind and thought I would get some input:

The Objective: Figuring out a way to have a girl's night once a month that everyone will be able to attend.

The idea: Having some type of a craft/creative night. There will be a restaurant we will meet at for a good night of dinner, fun and laughter. At this dinner, we will all exchange cards that we have made. Each person will make a card for each of the members that come and during dinner, we will all exchange cards. Not only will we get to be able to enjoy each other's company and get a night away, but we will also have some cute greeting cards to take home.

What does everyone think? Would you participate?

Baby Grable

As you all know, Scott and I are expecting our first child on April 4, 2010. We are so excited for the upcoming adventure in our lives and are doing what we can to prepare for it. I am in my 14th (almost 15th) week and starting to show. I am at the awkward stage where some of my clothes fit and some don't. I am definitely not ready to buy any maternity clothes yet and hope that I won't have to for a couple months.Scott and I had heard about a new test on the market called "Intelligender". It is an at home gender test that you can take after your 10th week. Scott and I decided to buy it and just test how accurate it is. We have 1.5 more weeks until our doctor will confirm with an ultrasound, but for right now.....the gender test result is a.......GIRL!

Scott is going to be such a fun dad. He may not be the disciplinarian in the household, but he will definitely keep the baby and me entertained. He is so creative and has so many fun ideas to keep everyone entertained. This is a video of a new game that he invented called "Dog Hockey Golf." Enjoy :)

Time Flies When You're Havin' Fun

A year.....can you believe it!!!!! An entire year has past and Scott and I are still as happy as the day we got married. I remember being at my Mom's a year ago tonight, hanging out, just getting things ready for the next 3 days of celebration. It still hadn't sunk in that I was getting married the next day. I stayed up pretty late, only because I wanted to make sure all the pictures and bridesmaids gifts were perfect. I really didn't have any trouble going to sleep that night and I believe that was the first night that Scott and I hadn't talked to each other. I wanted to be as traditional as possible and didn't want to see or talk to him the night before.

I woke up the next morning, still not feeling the butterflies feeling and not feeling rushed either. Getting married in the afternoon was the best decision ever! Scott told me that he got up that day and watched a movie, washed his car, etc. Then he got ready to go and get married. haha Neither of us really had cold feet, I think we were more than ready to end the engagement and start the marriage.

Over the past year.....wow....so much has happened. We bought our house before we got married, so we focused a lot of our energy in August and September on making our house our home. Thanks a lot to Brandon, Charley and Chris for all their hard work. Pretty sure Scott and I would be completely lost without your guidance and advice. Oh and thanks to Robyn for my much needed decorations!!!! School quickly started for both of us and unfortunately, besides weekends we rarely saw each other. The rest of 2008 was kind of a blur, because it just went by so fast!

One new thing I tried in our first year was making Thanksgiving dinner. Of course my mom helped, but I am proud to say that I cooked the turkey all by myself!

About 2 months after we got married, Scott started complaining that he wasn't ever going to be able to get the Husky that he has always wanted. I was more than willing to get a second dog, but just didn't want to raise a puppy while we were both in school. So, we had decided that we would get a Husky when he graduated law school. Little did I know, Makita would come into our lives much sooner. About a week before Thanksgiving, Scott was looking on KSL at Huskies that were for sale. He found an ad for Makita and fell in love.....the best part is that he was very inexpensive. Scott emailed the ad to me at work with the subject line: "Merry Christmas Maybe????" I looked at Makita, and liked that he was 5 years old. I definitely wasn't interested in raising a puppy right now and for a purebread Seppala Husky, he was very cheap. My response: "Yes". Within a matter of a seconds my phone was ringing and Scott could barely speak. We visited Makita on Thanksgiving and it was love at first sight. Within 2 weeks we were the proud new owners of the most beautiful and lovable husky.

I front loaded my last semester of school, so January to March just kind of melts together. I doubt I slept more than 4 hours each night and was constantly doing homework, at school or sleeping. Yeah, wasn't the funnest 7 weeks of my life. By front loading the first 7 weeks, I was able to enjoy the last 7 weeks of my schooling and had the opportunity to go on a trip to Poland and Prague in May. That was the first time that Scott and I were apart since we got married. It was such an awesome and rewarding trip, but still extremely hard to be away from Scott. Especially with the time difference, it was very hard to have more than a 5 min conversation. We made it through the trip and I came home and graduated!!!! Yea!!!!!

In the Jewish Ghetto, Warsaw Poland. This is where they fought for freedom against the Communist Party.At the "Unknown Soliders Tomb", Warsaw Poland. The tomb is behind me. There are soliders guarding the tomb 24 hours a day and you are not allowed to go into the area.Auschwitz - The most difficult place for me to visit, but a place that needed to be visited. Krakow, Poland.Trying to get through the gate to enter into an old castle. I don't think anyone is home. Prague, Czech Republic. Unfortunately Scott has had to continue with his school through the summer, but we have made time for many camping trips and road trips with friends and The Fray concert. We recently returned from Denver where we saw a Rockies game. Scott was in heaven and I had a blast. The atmosphere at the game was amazing and the nachos were delightful! We had such a great time in Denver and can't wait for the next baseball road trip......Seattle maybe????Scott is doing amazing in his schooling.....pulling off a 4.0 for his spring semester. He has been working so hard this summer and I believe he will see the reward for his hard work. The sad part is, he has to go and take a mid-term tomorrow morning. What a way to spend his 1st year anniversary! I love him for his ambition and hard work! He definitely surpasses me in this area. He is an amazing man and I am so blessed to be with him for eternity.

It has just occurred to me that I never blogged about our experience during the Draper Temple Open House. Brandon and Charley were so great to invite Scott and me to go with them. This was a really great experience for us. The Draper Temple is absolutely breathtaking. Once we walked in the temple, you could feel the spirit. It was such a peaceful and calm environment. Even little children were behaving and being quiet. It still amazes me that by just entering the temple, your mood and environment change.

Scott and I have had the great opportunity of helping out during the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. Luckily we bought our house in the temple district, so we often get asked to work at nights to help out. We both were able to work the hospitality section when the construction workers were invited to go through. The reception tent is absolutely amazing and I definitely didn't feel like I was in a tent. I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have had to serve.

Allergies and Bees

I was having a relaxing Friday off. About noon I left to get my hair cut and colored and run some errands. I left Lulu and Makita outside for a little bit before I left and then locked them in the house. When I returned 4 hours later, this is what Lulu looked like:
These pictures were taken after I returned home from the vet. At the vet they gave her a shot and some drops and the swelling has actually decreased a little. They believe that Lulu is having some kind of allergies or an allergic reaction to a bee sting. Oh poor puppy. She looks like our "special" dog right now.

April 2009

It has been a very busy and exciting month for us already. Scott had a very fun "boys" trip for Jeep Safari in Moab, we had a very relaxing time at Millcreek Canyon and my birthday is on the 26th!!!!!

First I will start off with Scott's Moab trip. The Monday before he left I ended up getting the flu. Ugh. He was such an amazing husband that entire week. He took me to the doctor's on Monday night and got all my medicines and made me chicken noodle soup. He took the day off on Tuesday to take care of me! He was so sweet and babied me all day! I went to work on Wednesday, but felt horrible by the time I got home. He again babied me all Wednesday night and made sure that I would get a great night's sleep. Unfortunately on Thursday he left for Moab :(. However, before he left, he wanted to make sure that I would be okay. When he came home from work, he surprised me with this:

Scott said this was my "Get Better", "Happy Easter", and "I'll Miss You" Surprise! He is amazing don't you think?!?!Scott has been so excited to give me my birthday presents and couldn't wait. So, on Friday night I got my first birthday present.........a gift card to a tanning salon! I am so excited! Now I can get a little color before I live on my European trip!!!! Thanks Babe! The funniest part was the wrapping job. Scott took the container my cell phone charger came in and put the gift card (wrapped in a paper towel) inside the container. He then needed some tape, but couldn't find any fast enough, so he used a band-aid. Haha He is so clever!

We had some great weather today and decided that it would be so much fun to take the dogs up to Millcreek Canyon. We took some lunch up with us and just had a relaxing afternoon. These dogs had the best day of their lives!!!!

So, we decided to tie him up to the leg of the picnic table we were eating at. As we were eating we heard a little tapping noise on the table. We looked up and to our left and saw that Makita had helped himself onto the table. haha He is such a crazy dog!!!

This happened a couple months ago, but I just wanted to post these pictures for all to see. This is what I came home to one day. Usually I do not let the dogs on the bed, but I needed to get some pictures before I woke them up and kicked them off the bed. I have such a cute family!
