3 months old little man....

Oh my sweet little baby boy.....you are turning into more of my sweet little man. Why do you have to grow up so fast? I am really enjoying your cute little personality that continues to become more apparent by the minute. Your 3rd month has been your funnest month so far. Your daddy and I continue to be so grateful and humbled that you are in our family. You bring us so much joy as we get to experience your life with you. You are the most calm, chill, relaxed little man. You still continue to adapt yourself to any situation you encounter. Instead of crying, you carefully study the situation and once you feel comfortable, you begin to play and laugh. You rarely cry and if you do, we know that is because you are hungry or sleepy. Just like your daddy, when you are hungry you need to eat right away! You continue to become a daddy's boy each and everyday.

You started off your 3rd month by being blessed. You looked so handsome in your sweet outfit. The best part is your Grandma Barton made the cute vest and you were able to use the same blanket that your daddy was blessed in. When you were taken in the circle, you woke up from your nap. As I said before, you study a new situation and then begin to play and laugh. You woke up in the middle of all these men, studied the situation and then began to make noises during your blessing. I guess you just had a lot to tell these men!

We were so lucky to have your Uncle Nick, Aunt Morgan and Cousin Jake come to your blessing. Unfortuantely they live in Arizona, so we don't get to see them very often. This was the first night that you and Jake were able to play together. You both have the same exact chin!

You and your Uncle Nick. He continued to make weird noises and you couldn't get enough of it. You would follow Uncle Nick where ever he went. He definitely caught your attention whenever he was around.

You and your Aunt Morgan. She absolutely loved meeting you! According to her, she is your favorite Aunt :).

You love barbequing with your dad! You two are like two peas in a pod. Same personality, same likes/dislikes. We basically have a mini-version of daddy :). I hope that you two continue to grow closer over the next many years.

You always look like such a stud in your church outfits. All of the little girls just love you and want to play with you. You are a wanted little man. In your 3rd month, your torso grew faster than your legs. You fit in a 3-6 month onesies, but 0-3 month pants. We still have to roll the bottoms of your pants up to make them fit. :) I hope in your 4th month you sprout some legs.

Lucas, I have already arranged your marriage. The cutest little girl lives next door to us and you both love hanging out together. Her name is Hilary Palmer and she always gets excited to see you. Her mom, Melissa, and I went on a walk and brought both of you. Here are some pictures of your first stroller ride together.

We got to go and take Grandma to celebrate her birthday. I am pretty sure she thinks you are her best birthday present. You sat on the edge of the table at dinner and talked and laughed with her for about an hour. You bring so much joy to your Grandma's life. You also got to experience your first time of glow-in-the dark mini-golf. We all had so much fun. Oh and disregard your Uncle Kyle in the below picture, he is just weird sometimes.

You started sitting all by yourself in your Bumbo chair. I cannot believe that you are already old enough to not need your Mommy to always hold you. You have started to become such an independent little man. You like to sit by yourself and lay by yourself and play. You don't need as much help from your Mommy anymore.

Not only have you started sitting by yourself, but you also have started grabbing and holding your own toys. You are such a little man now.

During dinner time, your Daddy and I sit you on the edge of the table to include you in every part of our lives. Your Daddy and I eat our dinner and you sit in your Bumbo chair and play with your toys.

You still LOVE going to watch your Daddy play softball. You also really LOVE sitting with your Aunt Charley during the games. She loves you so much and really enjoys playing with you. I think your Aunt Morgan has some competition from Aunt Charley for favorite Aunt.

You got to go swimming for the first time this month! Mommy and Daddy were so excited to take you, but I am not too sure you were as excited as us. You have the cutest swim outfit, glasses and hat. You didn't cry at all and would just let Daddy and I pull you around the pool. We will definitely be doing more swimming when you get older.

You love hanging out with your Grandma Barton.

Just like your Daddy, your favorite place is to be outside. Mommy has Fridays off of work and gets to hang out with you all day long. Our Friday tradition (while it is warm) is to spend part of the day outside looking at the trees, sky and anything else that grabs our attention.

Thanks to you, Daddy was able to celebrate his first Father's Day. You have brought so much joy to his life and definitely make him a better person. You really like Daddy to experience every part of your life. You make sure to only throw up on him and to poop in your diapers when he is around. You do all of this with a big smile on your face and then giggle afterwards.

You had a great time celebrating Father's Day with your Grandpa Barton. We were able to go over and have a barbeque and hang out outside together. You were having so much fun that you didn't want to go to sleep!

You are a very intelligent little man. You have already figured out a way around one of Mommy's rules. Whenever you are around me, you don't suck on your thumb. I only had to tell you a couple times and you made sure to keep that thumb out of your mouth. One day I walked in to check on you and found that you were sucking your thumb in your sleep. As soon as I put you down, you spit out your binkie and insert your thumb. You know that I won't pull your thumb out of your mouth because I don't want to wake you. You are such a sly little man. You also started sleeping through the night too!

Lucas, we love you so much. We love being able to include you in our daily lives and being able to experience your growth with you. You are such a happy baby and really enjoy your life. Please try to grow at a slower rate from now on. It is all just going by way too fast.

2 Months and Growing....

Wow, another month has come and gone. Lucas, I love you so much, but I just ask that you slow down for a while. You are growing up too fast for your mommy! We recently took you to your 2 month check-up and here are your stats:

Weight: 12lbs 14.5oz (75th percentile)
Height: 22 inches (50th percentile)
Head: 40.6 cm (50th percentile)

Lucas you are starting to become our short little chubby boy. I just absolutely love to pinch your cute cheeks and thunder thighs. You get cuter by the second!

Throughout this last month you have had so many new developments. One area you continue to develop in by the day is your sweet personality. I am thoroughly enjoying this part of your development and am just trying to soak it all in! You have the sweetest giggle, accompanied with the most precious smile that melts my heart every time I see it.

During your second month, there was always one specific person who could always brighten your day. I wish that I could say that it was me, your mommy, but it wasn't. You were such a daddy's boy during this month. Every time daddy walked into the room or if you heard his voice, you would get the biggest smile on your face and would start to giggle. You could just sit and stare at him for hours and as soon as daddy would stare back, you would get overly excited. Sometimes you would get so excited that it would give you the hiccups. I have absolutely loved watching you interact with your daddy. Even though I really wanted you to stare at me as much as you stared at daddy, I really enjoyed watching you show your love to him.

Lucas, you need to know how much your daddy loves you and how much he shows it to you! I haven't seen a daddy that has had more desire to be with their children than your daddy. Your dad wakes up early every morning to give you your morning feeding and to play with you before he goes to work. As soon as he gets home from work, he immediately comes to get you from mommy and play with you before you take your nap. If he is outside, then you are outside, if he is studying, then you are studying. There isn't an area of his life that he doesn't involve you in it. He loves you so much!

There were so many great memories from your 2nd month. I hope that I captured them all on camera:

The first main event of your 2nd month was walking (strolling) in The Race for the Cure event. Daddy's friend ,Kevin, allowed us to walk with his family in honor of his mother, Kathy Earl, who passed away from breast cancer. In honor of Kathy and of the race, we felt it would be appropriate for you to wear a onesie that says "I love boobs." Lucas, can you believe that at 5 weeks you were in your first 5K?!? Daddy and I loved having you there to participate in such a great event.

Later that day, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Grable's house to celebrate Mother's Day. When we got there, it was time for you to eat. Look how much your cousins, Gage and Carter, love you! They came in to see you and wanted to help feed you. They are always concerned about you and want to make sure you are always okay.

On Mother's Day we went over to Grandma Barton's house to celebrate Mother's Day with her as well as my first Mother's Day. While we were there, we got out this chair that she has bought for you and your cousin Jake. You absolutely LOVE this chair and are so intrigued by it. You sat there for an hour just staring at the fun toys and the vibrant colors.

You are so great about falling asleep on your own. You love your play time, but you really love your nap time as well. Mommy loves to watch you sleep!

You went to your first Bees game! Daddy was so excited to have you go to your first professional baseball game. It was a bit chilly, so we had to bundle you up. Mommy loves this picture of your sweet face.

You started smiling this month!!!!! Here is a great picture of you smiling at your Grandpa Barton.

Daddy makes sure to involve you in every aspect of his life. Here are you and Daddy studying for the LSAT test. Daddy would read you a question and you would giggle back your answer.

Like Father, like Son......need I say more?

This is Daddy's tradition with all the babies in the family. He made sure to always put his hat on your cousins, Gage and Carter, as soon as he could. Now it is your turn to always wear Daddy's hat around.

You finally got to meet the person you were named after! This was a very exciting day for your Mommy and Daddy. On Memorial Day, the Grable family all gather's around your Great Grandpa Grable's grave to honor him. You were named after your Great Grandpa Grable because of the amazing person he was when he was here. Your Daddy has a lot of great memories about his life with his Grandpa and he will share those as you grow up.

Lucas, I love you so much! I can't imagine my life without you or your Daddy. You both bring me so much joy every day. Thank you for all your smiles, giggles and cuddles that you give me. I can't wait to see what your 3rd month brings us.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
