The Adventures of Kyle Rabbit

My brother, Kyle, proposed to his girlfriend last night on their one year anniversary. Kyle has compeltely surprised me with how creative he was with the proposal.

His fiance, Stacie, really likes Peter Rabbit. Knowing this, Kyle used this in his proposal. For the past couple weeks he has been creating a book called The Adventures of Kyle Rabbit. In this book, Kyle talks about his past year with Stacie and what they have gone through. At the end of the book it reads: "So Kyle Rabbit decided that he would go into the enchanted forest behind Stacie Bunny's house and wait there for Stacie Bunny to come home from work. Kyle Rabbit had a very important question to ask Stacie Bunny........"
Stacie then walked to her backyard where Kyle was waiting to propose to her. If you know my brother Kyle, you know that this is way out of character for him. However, it has been really nice to see how he has changed over this past year. From day one he has always treated Stacie like his princess. I have really enjoyed seeing him grow in his relationship and also with the church. Below are some pics from Kyle's book. You will all be very impressed.

Congratulations Kyle and Stacie! We are really happy you both found each other and are ready to begin your lives together.

HOMEOWNERS

Scott and I finally own our home! It took a while and a little frustration, but we finally are on title and have the keys (a key) to our home. Scott will go tonight to pick up the rest of the keys and garage openers at 5:00. We took Lulu over to see her new house last night and she just loved it. Mostly because the last owners had 2 dogs and a cat, so she was having so much fun sniffing everywhere.

Time to get the projects started. First things first.....cleaning that oven! Just as I suspected, the sellers didn't clean the oven before they left. Thank goodness it is a self cleaning oven, so hopefully if we run that a couple times we won't have to do much. There are a lot of weeds, so I think Scott and I will be doing a lot of yard work at the beginning.

I am so excited to get started and I am even more excited to finally own a home with my future husband! What a big step in our lives babe. I love you!!!!

Flowrider

Has anyone ever heard of the Flowrider? It is simulated surfing that is located in Ogden, Utah. Scott had a gift card from my Dad to go to the Flowrider. So, we took a day and headed up there. I didn't have the guts to try the Flowrider with all these strangers watching me, so Scott had to do it by himself....sorry babe. I sat on a bench and was able to watch him the whole time.

What happens is you get your mini surf board and you walk out onto the platform. You set your board down and step on it. At that point you slide off the platform and are immediately in the water. There were 2 other guys there at the same time as Scott and it was the first time for all 3 of them. I would like to say that Scott caught on faster than these boys and was able to stay up longer!!! Way to go babe.

Watch the video below to see how Scott did. He does do a face plant at the end that looks painful. However, Scott says that floor is like a trampoline and doesn't hurt when you fall. Once you fall, the water shoots you up to the top and then you get back in line and wait for your turn.

Scott and I were thinking about getting a group together to rent out the Flowrider for an hour. Who is in????

Ant Man

I will forever remember the night of the war between man and ant. It was a night filled of danger, fear and victory! Thank you to my brave, courageous and handsome fiance; I will no longer live in fear of ants taking over.

It started out as any ordinary Friday night. Scott was over waiting for me to finish getting ready. I really do try to be ready on time, but some how Scott usually has to wait about 5 to 10 mins. I believe that he comes over earlier than he is suppose to. haha

I hear Scott call my name and tell me to come into the kitchen. He takes me over to the sliding door to the backyard and tells me to examine the wall and the door. At first I didn't notice anything, until I started to really look closer. There were flying ants all over the screen door and working ants (black ants) all over the wall. Holy crap!!!!!!!!!! Where did all of these ants come from? So, I immediately screamed, got extremely grossed out and started feeling like ants were crawling all over my body. That is when my knight in shining armor (well in a gas mask and a can of ant killer) came to my rescue.

Scott immediately prepared for his battle against the ever persistent flying and working ants. With the vacuum hose in one hand, ant spray in the other and a gas mask to protect himself, he went to work. Every ant that came out was immediately sucked into the black hole of death a.k.a the vacuum. He then found all of their openings and sprayed ant killer into their home! After an exhausting half hour of battle; Scott had won the battle.

The ants have never returned. I believe it is in fear of the ANT MAN!

Preparing for Battle

Fighting for our freedom

The sweet smell of victory (or ant spray)

Matrimoney

Scott and I have successfully set up our Matrimoney account. This is basically a checking account that we set up with America Credit Union. By going to the website http://matrimoney.macu.com and entering our registry number, then you are able to use a credit card to put money into the account. I have been asked if I feel that setting up this account is just too impersonal. To me, it is not. Scott and I can only guess what we are going to need once we get married and settled into our new home. This account will give us the opportunity to go out and buy the exact things that we need. So, I find that this account can only be a benefit to Scott and me and also our guests. If our guests can't find the time to go to a store, find a gift and wrap it; then this would be the most efficient and convenient way for them to give us a gift.

What do you think, is this too impersonal? I would love to hear your comments.

Scott and I have also registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and we are also asking for gift cards to Ikea.

I know, I know

It has been brought to my attention a few (okay, more like a lot) times that I haven't been updating the blog. Blogging definitely got pushed to the back burner, while we are trying to get everything ready for our new life together. I will give a brief update and will promise to blog in more detail later. At work my system doesn't allow me to post pictures on here....so the pictures will come in a later blog.

As most of you know, we close on our house next Wednesday!!!! All the negotiations are complete and we are just waiting for our loan to close. We were notified by our lender yesterday that everything is going smoothly and there will be no problem from here on out. Scott and I are pretty excited to get all of this house buying stuff behind us. However, we will have more projects once we get inside the home. Anyone want to help us clean???????

We are getting really close to being done with the wedding plans. We are just starting to do our follow ups with the reception center and the other vendors. I am getting so excited!!!!!!! The only problem is getting the bridesmaids and groomsmen clothed. I thought I would love this part, but it has been the part of the planning that I have disliked the most. haha I am trying to finding mocha shoes (impossible) for the bridesmaids and dressing the groomsmen. Scott and I are going to pick out his suit tonight and I am pretty excited. I can't wait to see how handsome the suit is going to look on him. All in all, the wedding plans are moving along smoothly and we should be done well before July 30th.

We have yet to register.....haha Neither Scott nor I are too excited to go walk around stores and pick out things to register with. I absolutely love to shop....however, I love to shop by myself. It is kind of one of those stress relievers, where I can just think to myself and take as long as I want. Registering doesn't seem like it is going to be that way. However, we have found the perfect way to register and I am pretty excited about it. Has anyone heard of MatriMoney? You can go through a credit union to set up an account called Matrimoney. Then they give you little instruction cards to put in your invite that explains to people on how to put money into the account. This can all be done online and there is no need to go to a store or have to wrap a present. It is the most convenient, efficient way to wedding shop. We are also asking for gift cards to Ikea. We aren't registering for anything there, just asking for gift cards. This way, after we move into our house and get settled, we will have a better idea of exactly what we want and/or need. So, don't buy us any furniture....gift cards will be fabulous! The last place we will actually do our registering is Bed Bath and Beyond. Yes, we must be traditional with something. So, hopefully with the Matrimoney, gift cards to Ikea and Bed Bath and Beyond, we will be able to cover all of our bases.

Last Sunday I met with our bishop and stake president and received my temple recommendation for my endowments!!!! June 26th is the day and it isn't too far away anymore. I am prepared and excited to go!!!!

Our first party is this Saturday. My mom is throwing Scott and me an engagement party!!!! There is going to be great food, great entertainment and great company. I am so excited for all the fun showers to begin. As most of you know, I tend to be a bit of a social butterfly. So, I am going to absolutely love these parties and being able to see all of my friends and family again.

Okay, I think that brings everyone up to speed. This was just brief and I promise to blog soon. I have just been a bit busy with a full-time job, full-time school, planning a wedding and buying a house. However, I have some great posts coming. Scott tried out the Flow Rider (simulated surfing) last Friday and I have some good videos. We also hung out with our friend's Emily and Mike and played the Wii Fitness game. It was such a blast and we have some good videos of Scott and me hula hooping.

Have a fabulous day!!!!!

It's Official!!!!

The sellers have accepted our offer. Not our first offer, but our counter offer. We now have a lot of work ahead of us in the next couple weeks and are very excited to get started!!!
