My 25th Birthday Party

Could I be any more lucky???? I think I have found the most wonderful, amazing and thoughtful man to marry. Over the last month, Scott and I have been talking about getting a trampoline. We were going to make that our first big purchase together and something we could enjoy at our house.

Yesterday was my official birthday and Scott had the night planned for me. He came to get me at 6:00 and off we went. As we were driving he told me that he had forgotten the tickets that we needed. So, he turned around the car and off we drove to his house. When we pulled in the driveway I noticed some balloons tied to the gate on his backyard. I looked at him and he said "surprise babe". I got out of the car with my sweatshirt (which Scott told me to bring) and my purse in hand and started walking towards the backyard. That is when I noticed this........

A trampoline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I screamed, threw my purse and sweatshirt, jumped on Scott and gave him a big hug and then ran to jump on my new tramp! This was the best birthday surprise ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I screamed really loud because Scott's mom came outside. haha

Scott had also had a party planned for me as well. There was a station set up with a screen and projector to play Rock Band (I am really good at the singing part, if I say so myself. haha), there was a fire set up to roast marshmallows and then Scott bbq for everyone! It was the best birthday party ever and the best surprise ever. Thank you for all that came to the party, it was great. Thank you to Brandon and Charley for the toilet plunger. It doesn't beat the trampoline, but is still a good gift. haha Here are some pictures from the night.....

My Birthday

Well the night before my "real" birthday, Scott and I spent it with my mom. We went to dinner at The Melting Pot (oh my gosh, so amazing!) and then off to bowling. I won the first game; however, my mom gave me a run for my money. Then Scott won the next two. My mom consistently came in 2nd place all 3 games; however she was the only one throwing strikes. Well Scott and I got a couple strikes and spares, but nothing close to what my mom got. I still don't know how she didn't win all 3 games. She took a bowling class in college and so now Scott says that she is a hard core bowler and that she bowled in college. haha

After bowling we headed to my mom's for cake, ice cream and presents. I got a cd on how to love and honor my husband (mom are you trying to tell me something?), a book about how to become closer to Christ (I am excited to take on this challenge), a gorgeous photo of Christ and the Proclamation of the Family (both to frame and hang in our new house....when we get one) and finally the most gorgeous statue of Christ I have ever seen! After all this excitement, we went in the backroom to chat with each other. I am really glad that my mom and Scott had a chance to talk with each other and get to know one another better!!!!

Thanks again for an amazing night Mom!!!!

My Amazing Fiance, House and Ring!!!

Okay, so everything seems to be set for July 30 and 31. Oh my gosh, I AM GETTING MARRIED!!!! I am so happy that this day has finally come and that it is to such an amazing guy. Scott treats me like a princess every single minute of my life. Even when I am acting all crazy and crying all the time, he still tells me how much he loves me. I am so glad that I waited for my prince charming to come. I never could have dreamed up a more amazing man.

As some of you know, Scott and I are going to be buying a house instead of renting. Scott volunteered to take on the "house hunting" project. I am so glad, because this takes a lot of stress off my shoulders. We have been searching online for about a month and haven't had too much luck. We recently started looking north in the Clearfield, Kaysville and Syracuse area. Wow, are there some goregous houses up there for cheap! I hate to say it, but we might end up north. This is one of the houses we are going to go and look at. It is gorgeous!!!

Of course we have many more houses to look at after this one.

Okay, so I haven't posted any pictures of my ring yet. I tried to take some and they just didn't do the ring any justice. However, I figure I would post them to give people an idea of what my ring looks like. Keep in mind, that you will be "wowed" in person by it. It was pretty funny in Relief Society today, the Stake President's wife made a big deal about the "rock" I had on my finger. She said that I shouldn't have something this big until 20 to 40 years into the marriage. I am definitely a lucky girl!!! I must mention that Scott designed this ring on his own. He had no idea what I wanted. So, this is purely his own creation. He is amazing!

PHOTOGRAPHER

The wedding planning is just moving right along. There has been so much accomplished in the past 3 weeks that it feels as if I have been engaged for 2 months already. I can't wait to just sit back, relax and smooth sail into the wedding day.

Thanks to Kathie and Jim Gwilliam, we have found and booked our photographer. Funny thing is that Kathie and Jim have no idea that they referred us to Retrospect. I saw some of their engagement pictures and saw some on their blog. So, I checked out the photographer. Scott and I met with Tim and Heidi last night and fell in love with their style. They had a lot of amazing packages to choose from and were very generous with their offer. Basically we couldn’t refuse what they brought to the table. So, we have finally book the photographer for the wedding. Everyone should check them out.

Rose Sachs Gardens

WE HAVE OUR RECEPTION CENTER!!!! It is the most gorgeous place to celebrate our wedding and I am so excited to start planning the details. We will be having a ring ceremony and a celebration at Rose Sachs Gardens. Scott and I wanted a celebration rather than an open reception. We have a maximum number of guests that we can invite to our celebration, and it definitely has been hard to determine who we invite. We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so we have also decided to have a open house when we return from our honeymoon. So, basically this is going to turn into a week of Scott and Steph! haha

There will be food, dancing and fun! I can't wait!!!

Addresses

I am a little baffled that I can't find a way for people to submit addresses to me through my blog. If anyone has any idea as to how I can make this happen, the knowledge will be appreciated.

Also, you can email me your address to barton_stephanie@hotmail.com

Have a great day!!!!

Bountiful Temple

Yesterday officially marked a week since Scott and I got engaged. There has been so much planning and so many decisions have happened in just one week. Scott doesn’t understand why we need 4 months when we have planned so much in a week. The very first decision and plan that was in place was our temple and wedding date. We are getting married on July 30, 2008 at the Bountiful Temple! It is only 18 weeks away!!!! It is such a beautiful temple and beautiful scenery. I am so excited….I just can’t wait!!!
